I know a lady who says she is a Christian. She goes to Church every Sunday, has Bible study and prayer group and is an essential part of the Church family. But, she also has all weekend card games with gambling, alcohol, cigarettes, fussing, cussing, and drunkedness, and is supposed to have a smoke free home for her business. Then she also had been giving my daughter money to buy weed and allowed her to smoke it in her garage. She also allowed her to bring several different men a week into her home. She takes advantage of a sickly person who has a debilitating illness as if it’s non-existant and she knows the the disease is terminal and the person in pain. She gets mad if the same said sick person has to leave for business reasons and can’t look after the business and when the person is there the lady takes off for hours at a time leaving the sick person responsible. Someone, please define a Christian. I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I am not a Christian.

Sadly she’s not alone. There have been Popes who have behaved far worse than this! A Christian is someone who lives a Christian life.

So if you believe in the father son and the holy ghost, you should pray for her. And if you feel what she is doing is wrong, you should confront her with your concerns. Why post it here, what can any of us do. Go to her and ask her and question her about what she thinks being a Christian is all about. Only God can judge. Keep in mind the measure you use to judge will also be the measure used to judge you. So be very careful how you move your tongue about others. You should go to her and express your concerns. And obviously you do have some. God bless****

I believe that a Christian can be anyone, provided that he or she is doing what the Holy Scriptures say. In order to be called a Christian, you must believe in Christ (for what is the use of being a Christian if you do not believe in Christ? Know what I mean?). You also need to pass certain requirements. These may include baptism, confirmation, communion, Holy Matrimony, Annointing of the Sick, and the other doctrines. Being a Christian is not easy because actions speak louder than words. Even if you are saying to the whole world that you are a Christian, if you are not following the Ten Commandments, and the Holy Scriptures, no one will believe you. And may I add, a Christian never brags about his religion, never takes advantages of other people, and never disrespects his own religion. And one more thing. If you want to know what Christians believe, just think of The Apostles’ Creed. Everything is in there. Good day.

There is no one definition for a Christian, or a Muslim, or Jew, or any other religion. For instance, some people who are muslims blow up children while others are peace loving.

Each person’s relationship or lack thereof with their God is their own.

Many hatemongering bigots will use their own definition to judge others.

the only way you can be a christian is asking Jesus Christ to come into your heart and wash away aLL OF YOUR sin and cleanse you from evil ways and to live in you

Well, if what you say is true…and I have my doubts…anyone can call themselves anything. It doesn’t make it true. The Bible says they will know you by your fruits. Obviously this woman does not have the fruits of Christianity.

And if you do believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit…you are a Christian.

She’s a Christian but she’s committing many sins. She might be taking advantage of the word forgiveness. Hopefully she’ll mend her ways.

A Christian is anyone who follows Christ-his life and his teachings. That woman is a bad example of a Christian, don’t look at her and think that’s how all Christians are-what she is doing is hypocrisy.

A Christian is anyone that believes in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Why do you say that you aren’t a Christian? Anyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of the living God is a Christian. Someone that believes that Jesus offered eternal salvation when He died on the Cross, and that we must accept that gift. By accepting the gift of eternal salvation, we become Christian.

We are not judged by works but by faith. Faith alone.

I believe that she is a Christian, but not a good example. She DOES give a bad name to Christians but it is the misunderstanding about what a Christian is that causes this strife. If people understood why bad people can be saved then they would want to be saved as well.

The good works that come from Christians are a result of His love oozing out of us, but the lack of good works doesn’t mean that someone isn’t a Christian. It’s true that the Bible says you can tell a Christian by his works, but the decision about whether or not someone is saved is not ours to make. We are COMMANDED to not judge, lest ye be judged. If you judge someone then YOU *WILL* be judged by God by your works, and trust me NO-ONE wants to be judged by their works. If someone claims that she is not a Christian, they are claiming that she is not saved. They are judging her. Judging is a sin. Doesn’t necessarily make them non-Christians. Just means they disobeyed the Bible. Just like her. She’s disobeying the Bible. But as long as she has accepted Jesus’ gift of eternal salvation, then she will have it.

Christians believe Jesus to be the Son of God, who lived a life befitting that of the creator of the universe, free of sin and full of love, who at the end of his earthly life was crucified, and then on the third day, rose from the dead, and later ascended into heaven.

Christianity, a supernatural religion and the only absolute one; in a sense (developed in the Epistle to the Hebrews), the oldest, for the Church is not an afterthought, but instituted by God in the fullness of time, and containing a revelation of Himself, which all to whom it has been adequately presented are bound under pain of eternal loss to accept (Mark 16:16), offering to all, who are sincere in seeking, the solution of all the world’s problems; enabling human nature to rise to the sublimest heights and "to play the immortal"; full itself of mysteries and Divine paradoxes, as bringing the Infinite into contact with the finite; the one bond of civilization, the one condition of progress, the one hope of humanity. Its fortunes have been the fortunes of its Founder; "not all obey the gospel" (Romans 10:16). The Jews rejected Christ in spite of the evidence of prophecy and miracle; the world rejects the Church of Christ, the "city set upon a hill", conspicuous though she be through the notes that proclaim her Divine. What men call the failure of Christianity is no proof that it is not God’s final revelation. It only makes evident how real is human liberty and how grave human responsibility. Christianity is furnished with all the necessary evidence to create conviction of its truth, given goodwill. — "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear".

  19. Isabella says:

Christians identify themselves as monotheistic, believing that there is one God. However, most sects incorporate God as a perichoresis of three persons: Father (the Source, the Eternal Majesty); the Son (the eternal Logos or Word, incarnate as Jesus of Nazareth); and the Holy Spirit (the Paraclete or advocate). Today, it is estimated that there are around 2.1 billion Christians in the world making up 33% of the world population, with the largest Christian denomination being Roman Catholicism.

The term "Christian" is used by various groups with diverse beliefs to describe themselves. Some people, including many born-again Christians, use a fairly specific definition of "Christian". They believe that in order to be a Christian, one must follow Jesus, and that the proof of this is found in agreeing to and following the doctrines set forth in their interpretation of the Bible.
These born again Christians are NOT the only ones of the Christian faith.

Many Christians are grouped into ecclesiastical communities called denominations which are separated by certain aspects of their respective beliefs and theologies. The liturgical denominations, including Eastern and Oriental Orthodoxy, Roman and Eastern Catholicism, Anglicanism, and Lutheranism, along with many constituent components of the reformed traditions of Presbyterianism, Methodism, Moravianism, et al., teach that the title Christian is honorifically bestowed upon those who have accepted the command of Jesus Christ (in Mark 8:34) to "take up your cross and follow me", and that the public mark of a Christian is to receive the sacrament of Baptism, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Many denominations advocate infant baptism, in addition to that of adult converts. However, proponents of believer’s baptism contest that there is no specific passage in Scripture that mentions infant baptism.
